Frequently asked questions
What makes The Garden Club of Omaha's Plant Sale special compared to other plant sales in the area?
Our Plant Sale is different because we include heirloom tomatoes and peppers. We choose and buy the seeds, get them started, plant them up, and label everything for sale. We're also a non-profit, using the proceeds to give out educational funds to help beautify the Omaha area.
What are some tomato varieties available at The Garden Club of Omaha's Plant Sale?
We have many tomato varieties for sale including Abraham Lincoln, Amish Paste, Anna Assa, Arkansas Traveler, Black Cherry, Black Krim, Bloody Butcher, Bonny Best, Brandywine, Caspian Pink, Cherokee Purple, Hillbilly, Principe Borghese, Roma, Rutgers, San Marzano, Thomas Jefferson, and Yellow Pear.
What is the best time to attend the plant sale?
The plant sale is from May 2nd, 3-7, and May 3rd, 8-12. The line is very long on Friday, May 2nd, so I would suggest coming early or coming Saturday morning! We will also be having a speaker this year at the sale. Shea Harkness from Curious Roots will present "Spice up Your Kitchen with Herbs"! Come and learn how to incorporate herbs into cooking while being able to buy herbs, tomatoes, and peppers for your garden! https://www.curiousrootsherbs.com/
